This is a beautiful area of natural common land, normally covered by bracken and with a good network of paths.  At the moment, due to the lateness of the spring, the bracken is very low, so there is no excuse, it's very fast and runnable!  The area rises up to 1400 ft, and gives outstanding views in all directions, so it's well worth running a bit faster to allow time to look at the views as well!

We have 4 levels of course, yellow, orange, light green and blue, so suitable for beginners through to experienced orienteers.

Start times are the normal 10:30 - 11:30 and courses will close at 1 pm.  There is a great pub in the village of Painscastle, the Roast Ox, which does a very good Sunday lunch.  We're hoping to meet there afterwards for a chat & social, everyone is welcome.  If you would like to come along, the pub really does need to be booked, as it gets very busy on a Sunday.

The phone no is: 01497 851398 and the website is www.roastoxinn.co.uk

If you give them a ring, they will give menus and prices, please mention that you are with the Mid Wales Orienteers, and we have booked to get there at 2:30.

Social
Don't forget to book the pub if you want a meal!!
