The terrain is open moorland and spreads across several small ridges. The Yellow and Orange courses will mainly follow large paths with views of Llyn Craigypistyll and Nant-Y-Moch, whilst the more technical courses enjoy nice contour detail along with some rocky features mixed in.
The area can be exposed to extreme weather even in October so the carrying of whistles will be compulsory, as may be cagoules in the event of bad weather.
