Allt Fedw or ‘Birchgrove’ is a typical Welsh mixed woodland, with an open area around the hill fort at the top of the wood. Some of the woodland is well thinned and some is less so. Most is steep, although there are plenty of nice tracks, well designed to help you tackle the contours.

The well thinned areas of the woodland are not always as runnable as in some forests, as this is a fertile area and the brambles certainly enjoy themselves here! However the shorter courses avoid almost all the bramble completely and those on the Green and Blue can also - if you choose your route carefully… (I said ‘almost all’!).

Although not that well used, there are bridleways and waymarked walks in the woods, so please look out for other users.
