Coed Allt Goch is a small community woodland on the northern outskirts of Llanidloes. Mostly beech and oak, there is a small area of coniferous woodland to the west of the forest. There is a good network of paths and tracks throughout, with mostly runnable terrain in-between. The tracks and paths are quite slippery underfoot at this time of year, so caution is required. There are felling operations currently taking place, diversions may be in place. There is a golf course to the north, which is out of bounds, so please be careful of any wayward golf balls!!! The wood is very popular with Sunday morning dog walkers and occasional mountain bikers, so please give way to them. It's their wood too!!

A selection of cakes will be on-sale to raise funds for the Welsh Junior Squad, so please support this very worthwhile cause. The children are our future!!!

A bucket with disinfectant will be available for washing boots and trainers. This is to prevent the spread of Phytophthora, so please try to adhere to our very limited biosecurity measures, and if possible, wash cars and boots, trainers etc before and after the event.

Please have a look at the Forestry Commission website for further details:

We're also hoping to meet for lunch afterwards at the Traveller's Rest, which is a local cafe in the middle of town.  We ate there 2 years ago, after our last event at Coed Allt Goch. We would like as many helpers to volunteer for control collection as possible, then if everyone does a bit, we can all go and have lunch!
