The Results are now uploaded for you all to see. Sorry about the wait for a particular course map.By entering beforehand it gives me a better idea of how many maps to order. A couple of you were over ambitious attempting to do the hardest course, although I was pleased to see the enthusiam displayed.
If you spot any erros in names, then let me know and I will change it.

Bored, nothing planned over Half-Term? Why not come to our Schools and Family Orienteering Day and enjoy the great outdoors and scenery at Gregynog?

What Activities are available?
There will be a "Star Exercise" available. In addition, there will be a Family Day course (a very short White course, 1.0km and 15m climb, to get in to the groove) – go around the course with mam and/or dad (or nain a/nei taid). There will also be a very "Easy" Short White avalable to try before your course.

Starts are between 10.30am and 12.30pm
Choice of Courses to suit all types (Young, Old, Fit or Unfit), advice will be on hand from experienced Club Members and Community Sports Officers. White Course – distance is 1.3km, 25m . Same as the Yellow, but with a control placed at every junction.
Yellow Course – distance is 1.6, 45m climb. Around paths (controls at path junctions etc), testing navigation, skill of turning (orientating) the map as you move around the paths and changing direction.
Orange Course – distance is 2.1km, 75m climb. More challenging than White or Yellow. Using definite points (e.g. path junction) as your "attack" point in to a control.

Email your entries to Bill Marlow (william.marlow@btopenworld.com) by Friday25th October at the LATEST so that you will be able to turn up and enjoy your run without delay. Entries on the day will also be accepted. Come along with an Adult. Please make it clear on the entry form whether you are running as an Individual or in pairs (as normal). If running in pairs, both full names need to be enterered on the form side by side.
Fees: Pay on the Day at Enquiries. Adults £2-00 (includes Dibber hire); Juniors (under 21) £1-00 (includes Dibber hire). Parking fee is £2.50 per vehicle from the Pay & Display machine - it is very impiortant that you pay this fee to Gregynog.
Facilities: Courtyard Café will be open - order from Reception; toilets available.
Equipment used: The Sportident hardware and software (as used at the Cluster events) will again be used for this event. Collection of Dibbers will be from Download/Enquiries beforehand (located under the archway, which leads to the courtyard and cafe); all dibbers must be returned at Download afterwards. Each Dibber costs £40 to replace, so please ensure that the children secure it on the index finger using the adjustable elasticised strapping, otherwise your school will be billed for any losses. Safety: Parents, please keep any children away from the generator to avoid burns to the skin, situated behind the Download tent.
Map: The map will be a pre-marked (per course) 5-colour map on water-proof paper, with bi-lingual control descriptions on the back of the map. The scale is at 1:5,000, i.e. 1cm on the map represents 50m on the ground. The map was first produced in 2006 by a professional mapper, with updates in 2019 ready for this event.
Clothing: Trainers should be adequate footwear for all courses – there may be a few muddy and/or slippery areas on all courses at this time of year. You are recommended to bring a waterproof jacket, as October can be cold and wet. Please note: We reserve the right to refuse a person(s) from taking part if he/she/they is/are wearing inappropriate footware.
Results: A full set of Individual results will appear on the Club website (www.mid-wales-orienteers.org.uk) as soon after the event as humanly possible.
Spot Prizes: There will be "spot prizes" awarded at various points during Download + post-race reward.

Directions – from Newtown navigate towards Tregynog and follow signs for Gregynog shortly before reaching Tregynon (Grid Ref: SO 085975) for Assembly and Parking, Start & Finish.

10.30am - 12.30pm (write on your entry form whether you prefer to compete in the morning or afternoon – specify a particular time if need be and we will try to keep to that time, unless there is a high demand for a particular time!).

Joining Mid Wales Orienteering Club (MWOC)
You are welcome to come along and compete at any MWOC event during the year, even as a non-member. See the Events drop-down menu for a list of future events.
At most of our events there will be available Yellow, Orange and Light Green courses. Although, as we cover the whole of Mid Wales, some events will be nearer than others of course, so why not persuade the whole family to come along and try the sport?
However, after a couple of competitions or even straight away, you might wish to join MWOC. Why not download the form below and send it to our Club Membership Secretary (Clive Thomas)? This form is ready for 2019/20.

Cheaper entry fees; availability of Colour Coded courses as you progress; invitation to go along to Welsh Junior Squad training (many training weekends are run in Mid Wales) with the possibility of representing Wales (Boys and Girls age group teams) at the Junior Home Internationals or Regional Championships for those with true potential.
