British Championships 2014 and JIRCS 2014

The Midlands were host to this year’s British Sprint and Middle Distance Championships. The Sprint Champs were held in Keele University with a prologue in the late morning and the final in the afternoon. Some sprints can be too easy (or sometimes too extremely technical) but I think the campus offered a nice balance. My prologue result got me into the Women’s Open A Final where I came 10th, as 3rd W18. Gabriella Walsh came 5th in W45.
On Sunday was the Middle Champs at Brereton Spurs, near Rugeley. It was a mainly wooded area with a lot of spurs as the name suggests. I had the same course as the W20s and W21s, and with my mistakes around the course I didn’t think I had done fantastically but it turned out I had won W18 by a minute or so and was 4th on the course, yay! Hannah Thomas also had a fab run to come 3rd on W10 as well as Jasmine Silk of SWOC coming 3rd on W12. Joe Thomas came 4th on M16.
