Castle Aberystwyth 2014
The fine weather finally broke in time for the first MWOC event at Castell Aberystwyth which was enjoyed by club members. We relocated download to the shelter to the east of the monument with a fantastic view out to sea. The courses were well planned by Ben with many being caught out by the changes of levels finding themselves yards from the control but 3 metres too low and having a long detour to get to the right level! The maze of walls of the main castle ruins was a real challenge with some being caught out by controls 12 and 13 which were surprisingly difficult to track down. Great to see new junior members trying out the Yellow course which was also taxing with the network of walls and paths to work out. Many thanks to all those who helped out. Gabriella for planning, Robert for map printing, Joe Thomas on setting out controls and registration, Zoe and Joe on download, Steve, Kate, Dafydd, Joe, Zoe and Fay for collecting controls. If you would like to volunteer to help out with these roles at future events please do let us know all help is very welcome!
Hope to see you at our next event at Llanbadarn Campus on Thursday 3rd July at 7.00pm.
