The area, used on Day 2 of Croeso last summer, is mostly open, exposed mountain, currently sheep-grazed so the vegetation is low. The lower reaches of the area offer up a curiously historic landscape, with ruins, water courses and a most peculiar well, all set amidst charming, soft contours, in contrast to the craggy slopes above. This lower area, where the yellow and orange courses shall be set, is very runnable with well-worn sheep tracks. A small woodland abuts the northern end of the hillside and some of the courses will venture within, providing an opportunity to reset navigational radar for the deep and dark. The views of the Dyfi estuary and the Tarrans to the north are nothing short of breath-taking and runners getting back too quickly will have time added upon the assumption that they didn't take the time to look about; it's that compulsory.
