This year the main orienteering courses start 2km from registration so will involve a half hour's walk. However we can now explore the western areas of the woods, accessing more broadleaf areas which are very runnable. In addition there will be a 6km course ideal for mountain bikers or runners that prefer to stick to forest tracks.

Runners need to be aware that the area is popular with other users, walkers with dogs, horse riders and mountain bikers so when crossing tracks or paths please take care.

After your run, why not join us for lunch at the oak panelled and atmospheric Radnorshire Arms in Presteigne? As soon as we've collected in the controls we'll be down there for a well earned roast!

Note from Bill on SI Punching: The event will be using Sportident (SI) electronic punching. All control units have the correct version of firmware (downloaded end of October 2012) and the latest version of AutoDownload (February 2013) to work with the latest generation of dibbers. Remember that it is your responsibility to ensure that your visit to each control site is registered on your SI card (dibber) - wait for the flash and beep from the control unit.
